Event Organizer Contact Information: Cassandra.prieve@gcsd.k12.wi.us or 715-704-1221

Description of Event: I am a teacher at Glenwood City High School. We are going to be starting the novel, Speak, by Laurie Halse Anderson and doing a unit focused on mental health/trauma. This particular class is very hands-on, likes the engagement of a speaker, etc. So, my thought was that for this very serious and important topic, it would be more "real" to them if we could have a speaker on the topic of domestic violence/sexual assault.

Where: Glenwood City, Wisconsin

When: By the end of January 2024

In-person or Remote: Either, preferably in person

Additional Information:

If you are interested in speaking at this event, please contact Cassandra Prieve directly at Cassandra.prieve@gcsd.k12.wi.us or 715-704-1221

Childhood Sexual Abuse Training Event April 2024

Event Date:
04/01/2024 00:00 to 04/01/2024 00:00

Event Organizer: Anna Sanders

Event Organizer Contact Information: asanders@butterflybridgecac.org or 2057554205

Description of Event: We would like to do the training in April (could be later April), considering that is Child Abuse Awareness Month. We are at the beginning stages of planning our training, but we really want to focus on educating our partners with how trauma, specifically sexual abuse trauma, affects children. We will have other professionals come in to provide training but would really value the impact that hearing firsthand from a survivor would have on them. We would prefer in person, and we are hoping the training will be held locally here in Clanton (Alabama) at a community college.

Where: Clanton, Alabama

When: April 2024

In-person or Remote: In Person

Additional Information: We don’t have preference as to the gender or age, but definitely someone who is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. It would be a bonus if this individual recalled any information about their experience with a CAC, Law Enforcement, DHR, etc. Just any of the agencies that were involved and had contact with the child.

If you are interested in speaking at this event, please contact Anna Sanders directly at asanders@butterflybridgecac.org or 2057554205
