Washington, D.C. (May 31, 2023) - RAINN released the following statement after a Los Angeles County Superior Court convicted actor Danny Masterson of two counts of rape while the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said actor Armie Hammer will not be charged with sexual assault:

“The three survivors involved in the case against Masterson demonstrated immense courage in going through a very difficult and public judicial process not once, but twice,” said Scott Berkowitz, RAINN president and founder. “While we acknowledge the decision to not charge Hammer, we do appreciate the courage it took to come forward with these allegations and participate in such a long investigation. To anyone following coverage of these cases and looking for support, RAINN’s National Sexual Assault Hotline is ready with free, confidential, and 24/7 support at 800.656.HOPE (4673) and online.RAINN.org.”
