RAINN Partners with Teen Drama East Los High

Don't Look Back."(July 15, 2015) – Teen drama East Los High today released season three of the series for streaming on Hulu Plus. RAINN worked closely with writers and researchers from Wise Entertainment on their depictions of these sensitive issues impacting teens nationwide.

East Los High follows the lives of teenagers growing up in present-day East Los Angeles from an American-Latino perspective. As Hulu’s first all-Latino cast, the East Los High characters tackle a host of issues that affect teens, such as bullying, mental health and abuse.

Television shows depicting sexual violence may be difficult for viewers, but can also encourage others to come forward and get help for the very first time.

“We are excited to have the cast of East Los High portray an issue that affects so many young Americans,” said Katherine Hull Fliflet, RAINN’s vice president of communications. “This is an incredible opportunity for real teens to start conversations with their peers, and point one another to help.”

This spring, RAINN launched free, confidential 24/7 support for Spanish-speaking survivors at rainn.org/es. A listing of local resources is available at centros.rainn.org.

Stay tuned for more resources from RAINN in the coming weeks, and don’t miss season three of East Los High, now available on Hulu Plus.
