RAINN Statement on the Passage of the SAFER Act

Today's passage of the SAFER Act of 2017 marks a bipartisan win for survivors of sexual violence. The act helps victims attain justice, and aids law enforcement in bringing perpetrators to justice. RAINN applauds the passage of this legislation and thanks the Senate and House leaders, including Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) and Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) for championing this bill. We also extend our appreciation to Congress for reaffirming its commitment to supporting victims.
