RAINN Joins National Effort for Online Safety

"Data Privacy Day" enclosed in an orange circle with word Champion beneathThis month, RAINN will be featured as a data privacy champion as part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), along with Microsoft, Intel, AT&T, Qualcomm, Boeing, Better Business Bureau, Brown University, and Stop Think Connect. The partnership, led by the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), is a national movement to educate the public about staying safe online.

Throughout the month, RAINN will utilize social media to share small, manageable steps that survivors can take to ensure their safety online. “Our social media-saturated world means that virtually anyone can access potentially sensitive information. We want to help survivors navigate these challenges,” said Katherine Hull, RAINN’s VP of communications.

On Janurary 8th, RAINN will be featured along with Reputation.com in a Twitter chat hosted by NCSA about online safety. Join the conversation at 3pm ET by following RAINN on Twitter: twitter.com/RAINN and using the hashtag #ChatDPD.

Each week in January, RAINN will release online safety infographics, via Facebook, that can be shared across social media.
