RAINN Launches New Platform for Volunteer Fundraisers

"Join RAINN in the fight against sexual violence. Help survivors. Educate the public. Improve public policy." Text is above an image of the fundraising website. RAINN supporters can now fundraise more easily, thanks to a new website and staff coaches. Volunteer fundraisers, known as RAINNmakers, work year-round to support the mission of RAINN and provide vital financial support to ensure that services continue to run 24/7. Each RAINNmaker receives a personal fundraising page, which can be customized with photos and details about the campaign. They also receive support and advice from a dedicated coach on RAINN’s staff as they plan and implement events.

Fundraising pages can feature a personal appeal for donations or an activity such as a 5K race, benefit concert, homemade crafts for sale, or charity auction. While each RAINNmaker’s campaign is unique, their collective efforts fulfill the same mission: to provide financial support for services to survivors and build awareness in their community about the importance of ending sexual violence.

“To further support these incredible volunteers, RAINN has launched a new online platform which offers improved functionality, giving fundraisers more flexibility to host events benefiting RAINN,” says Chelsea Bowers, RAINN’s development director. Some of the new features include:

  • Personalization: Fundraisers can personalize their page with photos, videos and banner images to tell their personal story. Each fundraiser’s page also features a tab where the RAINNmaker can post updates about their progress and share with donors why they are supporting RAINN.
  • Mobile Integration: Check your fundraising page directly from your mobile device. Users can donate to a page, see an event or edit a campaign directly from their phone.
  • Social Media Integration: Fundraising pages are seamlessly linked to email, Twitter and Facebook, allowing fundraisers to share their pages and progress quickly and easily to social media platforms.
  • Community of Supporters: Users can comment on each other’s pages, thank donors, and connect with other RAINN supporters.
  • Ticketed and team events: Fundraisers can now host ticketed events and sell tickets straight from their page. This is ideal for special events such as races, auctions or galas. Donors can create or join teams, allowing them to connect to other supporters in their area.

With these new features, it’s easier than ever before to create a page, check your progress and involve friends and family in the process.
