Gena has dedicated much of her career to advocating for survivors of sexual violence and their families. Before joining RAINN in 2022 as Director of Institutional Giving, Gena was the Senior Director of the Brooklyn Child Advocacy Center in New York City, ensuring a trauma-informed, multidisciplinary team approach to the response, investigation, and treatment of child abuse. Gena has served on many victim assistance boards and advisory councils and frequently lectured on topics such as identifying and responding to child sexual abuse, the efficacy of a collaborative systemic response to child abuse intervention and investigation, engaging underserved populations through a multidisciplinary team approach, and the benefits of a multidisciplinary team response to commercial sexual exploitation of children and child trafficking. Gena received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College and her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. She lives in Brooklyn, New York.
