Lyft: Round Up & Donate

RAINN and Lyft are partnering up to answer the call for survivors of sexual violence through Lyft’s Round Up and Donate program. Learn more about the Round Up & Donate program and how riders of Lyft can give back and support survivors.

The next time you take a Lyft, you can also support survivors of sexual violence. As a part of Lyft’s Round Up & Donate program, at the end of a ride, you can now round up your fare to the nearest dollar and select RAINN to receive the difference. For example, if your fare is $22.23 and you choose to round up, 77¢ will be donated to RAINN to support services like the National Sexual Assault Hotline.

"As a founding member of our Safety Advisory Council, RAINN has been an invaluable partner in our work to make the Lyft platform as safe as possible," said Lyft Director of Community Safety Policy Kamillah Wood. "RAINN's inclusion in our Round Up & Donate program gives riders the opportunity to support RAINN's life-changing work straight from the Lyft app."

The Round Up & Donate program is an easy way for riders to give to RAINN and support survivors of sexual violence. Here’s how you can round up for RAINN.

  1. If you don’t already have the Lyft app, download it from the App Store (iPhone) or the Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Once you’ve downloaded the app and created an account, tap the menu icon at the top left of the screen and select “Donate” from the list.
  3. Scroll down until you see the RAINN logo under the LyftUp Alliance section.
  4. Tap the RAINN logo and then tap the “Start donating” button.
  5. You’re ready to start rounding up for RAINN!

You can also share with family friends that you’re participating in the program so they can consider giving back as well.

“We’re grateful to Lyft for making this option available for riders to make their trips go even further and support RAINN’s work to assist survivors of sexual violence,” said Julia George, RAINN development director. “With thousands of passengers taking trips every day, riders can donate spare change which can directly help fund hours of crisis support on the National Sexual Assault Hotline.”

DNA evidence can increase likelihood of holding a perpetrator accountable.
