A transformative anonymous grant enhanced RAINN’s hotline capacity.

In FY2024, 323 valued volunteers donated 38,400 hours of their time to provide support, information, and resources to survivors and their families.

RAINN’s Research
Our ongoing research ensures that our work remains survivor-centered. These insights inform the expertise and training of our hotline support specialists and contribute to the knowledge base of the broader anti-sexual violence field.

Education & Community: FY2024 Highlights
RAINN’s expertise was featured across media and entertainment platforms, helping shape the public’s understanding of sexual violence.
- Associated Press, PBS, and Teen Vogue: We discussed RAINN’s work advising the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on new consent policies to prevent involuntary pelvic exams.
- NPR’s “All Things Considered” and the New York Times: RAINN underscored how the overturning of Weinstein’s 2020 conviction could impact survivors.
- ABC’s “Nightline”: RAINN offered a national perspective on about California’s “look back” window in the wake of Paula Abdul’s lawsuit against a former producer.
In our work with the entertainment industry, we helped dozens of productions responsibly represent and address sexual violence.
- RAINN advised on the film “Miranda’s Victim”, the true story of Patricia Weir, the courageous rape survivor at the heart of the landmark Supreme Court case that created Miranda rights.
- RAINN provided script and scene reviews for MTV’s “Teen Mom Family Reunion”.
- RAINN advised on season 6 of Netflix’s “Virgin River”.
Celebrity advocates Ashley Judd and Nikki Garcia helped amplify RAINN’s work, reaching more than 600,000 people via social media. During our year-end campaign, Nikki helped us raise $175,000.
Policy & Justice: FY2024 Highlights
RAINN’s Congressional Day of Action
During 2024’s Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, more than 40 survivors from RAINN’s Speakers Bureau joined our Congressional Day of Action, advocating on Capitol Hill for laws that support survivors and bring perpetrators to justice.
