EARN IT Act of 2023 (S. 1207)

Incentivize technology companies to proactively search for and remove child sexual abuse material (CSAM) from their platforms.

Project Safe Childhood (S. 1170) (H.R. 2661)

Senate Sponsor: Sen. John Cornyn Senate Sponsor: Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Modernizes the investigation and prosecution of online child exploitation crimes. It would also make improvements to how federal prosecutors and law enforcement work together and use new technology to go after predators.

PROTECT Our Children (not yet introduced)

To reauthorize the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2008 and transition the emphasis of the National Strategy for Child Exploitation Prevention and Interdiction program from information gathering to evaluation and protecting the victims of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Child Rescue Act (not yet introduced)

To identify the extent of and resources needed to rescue children who are victims depicted visually in child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

DEFIANCE Act (S. 3696) (H.R. 7569)

“Disrupt Explicit Forged Images and Non-Consensual Edits”

Creates a federal civil remedy for victims who are identifiable in a “digital forgery.”

Preventing Deepfakes of Intimate Images Act (H.R. 3106)

Senate Sponsor: Rep. Joseph D. Morelle

Creates both a civil remedy for victims and a criminal penalty for offenders who distribute intimate images that have been manipulated with technology, without the consent of the victim.

“Artificial Intelligence Fake Replicas And Unauthorized Duplications”

Establishes a federal solution with baseline protections for all Americans.

Debbie Smith Act of 2023 (S. 499) (H.R. 1105)

Reauthorization provides state and local government grants to improvecollection and analysis of DNA evidence, including evidence in sexual assault kits.

SHIELD Act of 2023 (S. 412)

“Stopping Harmful Image Exploitation and Limiting Distribution”

Provide federal law enforcement with the tools they need to crack down on privacy violations.

Save Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, & Stalking Act (H.R. 2996)

Expand the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Allow employees to take unpaid leave to meet needs related to being a victim of dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, sex trafficking, or stalking without fear of losing their jobs.

Victims Voices Act (S. 3706) (H.R. 7170)

Ensures family members, legal guardians, and court-appointed victim advocates during certain criminal court case proceedings receive restitution from convicted defendants for the costs they incur as a result of the offense.

National Sexual Assault Hotline Appropriations

RAINN requests $3.15 million in the FY 2025 Commerce Justice, and Science and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill or the Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network Hotline Grant to expand staffing and enhance training and volunteer management.

Missing & Exploited Children (MEC) Appropriations

RAINN requests $150,000,000 to fund the National Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, which received over 32 million reports of suspected child exploitation, and the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce Program, which investigates those crimes.
