MARITIME | Case Study: Advancing SASH Prevention at Sea

The Client

A global member-based maritime organization

The Challenge

Following renewed attention to historical SASH incidents within the maritime industry, the client engaged RAINN to lead a breakout session at its annual conference and assess the effectiveness of its SASH guidance materials distributed to member organizations.

The Solution

At the annual conference, RAINN facilitated an in-depth breakout session focused on trauma, barriers to reporting, and actionable prevention strategies for maritime organizations. After the event, RAINN conducted a detailed content review of the client’s SASH materials, offering specific improvements to align with national best practices. RAINN then led the full revision of the client’s computer-based training scenarios, applying Adult Learning Theory and trauma-informed design, and updated the Best Practices Guide to strengthen prevention and response guidance across the industry.
