Communications Intern Position Description

The Communications Intern works with the communications team under the Manager of Social Media & Social Impact. College students with a communications, public relations, marketing, or related major, and an interest in the issue of sexual violence are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities will include assisting communications staff with:

  • Social media content creation, including TikTok and Instagram Stories
  • Influencer research and collaboration opportunities
  • Special events and marketing campaigns, such as Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month and RAINN Day
  • Database creation and maintenance
  • Copywriting and editing
  • Other team projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable with creating on-camera content for TikTok
  • Cares about RAINN’s mission and survivors of sexual violence
  • Self-starter, independent worker
  • Creative, thoughtful approach to projects
  • Excited to learn how to use social media for nonprofits

This is an unpaid, part-time position and requires a minimum of 15 hours per week. RAINN will work with the student and university to ensure college credit is given for the internship, if applicable.

Requirements:

Cover letter and resume. In your cover letter, please include one example of an effective social media or influencer campaign for a cause. Upon receiving a phone interview, candidates will be asked to submit a TikTok they would make about RAINN’s subject matter.
