New Law Will Help Track 100,000 Missing Sex Offenders

July 26, 2006 — RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) commends the U.S. Congress and the president for a vitally-needed new law that will crack down on 100,000 missing sex offenders and help keep the nation's children safe from predators. RAINN Congratulates Speakers Bureau Member on Receiving Prestigious Jefferson Award

July 6, 2006 — Holly Dunn Pendleton, a member of the RAINN Speakers Bureau, was recently honored in Washington at the 2006 Jefferson Awards. All 50 States Now Included in National Sex Offender Public Registry

July 5, 2006 — All 50 states are now participating in the National Sex Offender Public Registry (NSOPR) Web site, the Justice Department announced. The Department of Justice-sponsored site allows parents and concerned citizens to search existing public state and territory sex offender registries beyond their own states.

Violence Against Women Act of 2005: Sexual Assault Services Program

May 9, 2006 — As part of VAWA 2005 (Public Law No: 109-162), the Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) was initiated to provide assistance to victims of sexual violence.
