Vice President of Public Policy
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and prioritize policy agenda in collaboration with RAINN leaders.
- Analyze policy initiatives and research.
- Monitor Congressional and state legislative activities regarding issues related to sexual assault.
- Lobby Congress in furtherance of our legislative agenda.
- Establish and maintain relationships with members of Congress, Congressional staff and state and federal government regulators.
Internship Positions
Development Internship
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, cultivate and manage potential partnerships to ensure miscellaneous streams of revenue
- Research individual donors and prospects
- Maintain contact with current donors through calls, emails and personal notes
- Assist Development staff in drafting fundraising emails
- Assist Development staff in event planning
- Help maintain database
- Perform general administrative duties to assist RAINN Development staff
Public Policy Research Internship
RAINN monitors and analyzes federal and state regulations and legislation relating to sexual assault. RAINN educates Members of Congress about issues of importance to rape victims and works collaboratively with allied organizations to advance an anti-sexual assault agenda. RAINN led a successful two-year effort to draft and secure passage of the DNA provisions of the "Justice for All Act of 2004," and maximizing the criminal justice use of DNA technology remains a top priority for RAINN.
The Policy Research Intern will work under the supervision of RAINN's Policy Manager to help advance RAINN's anti-sexual assault policy agenda.
Web/Graphic Design Internship
The Design intern assists in the organization’s online presence, including website, MySpace profile, web banners and promotional materials. He/She will assist in the design and development of marketing campaigns and will work with the VP of Communications and IT Team to ensure consistency in RAINN’s brand for all web-based and printed materials.

National Volunteer Supervisor Internship
Duties:
* Complete 40 hours of Crisis Intervention Training
* Supervise and support volunteers on the Online Hotline
* Provide technical assistance to volunteers
* Be knowledgeable in the organization’s policies and protocols
* Submit monthly supervision reports
* Complete research relative to the Online Hotline

Spring 2010 Social Networking Internship
RAINN is seeking a Social Networking Intern for the Spring 2010 semester. College students with a commitment to ending sexual violence and helping victims of sexual assault are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of contact for multiple social networking sites and participants
- Community, organizational and university outreach
- Assist Communications staff in drafting postings, emails and other outreach materials
- Develop innovative ideas for how to best engage our social networking site followers / members / fans
- Volunteer recruitment
- Research up-and-coming social network services
- Sub-focus in online marketing
- Other duties as assigned
Spring 2010 Communications Internship
RAINN is seeking communications interns to work with the Marketing Coordinator and Public Relations Manager under the Vice President of Communications.
Responsibilities will include:
- Volunteer recruitment
- Internet research
- Media database creation and maintenance
- Web-based social networking
- Possibly some writing/correspondence
- Special events assistance
- Media pitching
- Organizational and college outreach
Online Hotline Volunteer Support Internship
The Online Hotline Volunteer Support Intern will work closely with the National Training and Research Director and the National Volunteer Coordinator on a number of tasks that involve RAINN's new National Sexual Assault Online Hotline.
